What we get called about here
The single most common Maddington job is an under-sink filter going into a kitchen that was not designed around one.
That is not a criticism of the kitchens. It is what happens in an established suburb where the houses came first and the filters came thirty years later. The sink cabinet is smaller than a modern one, the waste trap runs through the middle of the space you would most like to use, and the isolation valve on the cold feed has been sitting there quietly since whenever the kitchen was last done.
All of that is workable. What it means practically is that the plumber needs to see the cupboard before he prices the job, because "will it fit" and "will that valve turn" are the two questions that decide it. Both get answered on a visit that costs you nothing.
The other Maddington call: nobody came back
A lot of the systems we service in Maddington were installed by somebody else and then forgotten.

The pattern is consistent. A filter went in some years ago, the cartridge was changed once or twice, the installer moved on or stopped answering, and the unit has been sitting under the sink doing progressively less ever since. Nobody notices, because a filter fails gradually rather than suddenly.
What people eventually notice is the flow. Filling a jug at the filtered tap starts taking noticeably longer, or the taste the filter was bought to remove quietly comes back.
We service systems we did not install. Identifying what cartridge fits a housing that has been under a sink for years is most of that job, and we do it from the housing itself rather than from a label that is usually illegible by then. Cartridge replacement
Maddington is not only houses
Maddington carries a real amount of commercial and light industrial alongside the residential streets — the shopping centre, the strip along Albany Highway, and the working premises around the rail corridor.
A business with a filtration problem has a different problem to a household. Volume is much higher, so a cartridge sized on household numbers gets through its life in a fraction of the expected time. And somebody notices the moment flow drops off, because in a café or a workshop it interrupts the day.
We do commercial filtration alongside the residential work — point-of-use systems under a counter, mains-side units for a whole premises, and cartridge changes on an interval that matches actual use rather than a figure off a box. Commercial water filtration
Bores in Maddington
About one in four Perth household gardens runs off a private garden bore drawing on the shallow Superficial aquifer, and Maddington's established blocks have plenty of them.

Worth being clear about what that is. Bore water is untreated groundwater. It has not been through a treatment plant, and it stays entirely separate from the scheme water in the house. If your bore is staining the paving orange, blocking sprinkler heads or fouling fittings, that is a bore job with its own equipment — not something a drinking water filter touches.
Dissolved iron, suspended sediment and smell are three separate problems, and they are not solved by the same thing, which is why we look at the bore rather than quoting one over the phone. Bore water filtration
